Network Education Lead

Elizabeth (known as Beany) is a Children’s nurse who trained at Great Ormond Street Hospital before moving back home to work at Southampton Children’s Hospital once qualified. During her almost 15 years at UHS, Beany’s role moved from the Paediatric Medical Unit into the Paediatric Education team where she discovered her enthusiasm for education and improvement. Beany oversaw the transition to digital PEWS and then the roll out of NPEWS across the Children’s Hospital. Beany is passionate about the value of multidisciplinary education in healthcare and particularly enjoys bringing professionals together during the Network’s education events. Beany is a qualified QSIR practitioner (Quality Service Improvement and Redesign) and holds a PGDip in Medical Education. Beany is a self-confessed lover of all things organised with a strong eye for detail (and a particular fondness for a good spreadsheet).
