Clinical Lead
Paul is Professor of Paediatric Surgery in Oxford. His clinical interests are in Paediatric Endocrine Surgery and Cell Transplantation. He is Director of Oxford Pancreatic Islet Isolation Transplant Programmes, and he leads a translational research group focusing on islet transplantation, including exploring novel islet sources and immunosuppressive-free strategies. He was national Chief Investigator for the ITAD Trial in children and is a Principal Investigator for the current Vertex Stem Cell Trials. He is Past-Chair of BAPS (British Association of Paediatric Surgeons) Research Committee and a former member of the BAPS Executive. Outside work he enjoys fly-fishing, messing about on boats, and is a life-long Chelsea fan!
