Paediatric Neurosciences

The Paediatric Neurosciences Operational Delivery Network (ODN) provides clinical leadership and coordination across the region to support the safe, effective, and equitable delivery of neurosciences services for children and young people. The ODN oversees the development and assurance of standardised care pathways, promotes quality improvement and patient safety, reduces unwarranted variation in access and outcomes, and supports workforce development. It also acts as a key interface with NHS England, using data and clinical intelligence to inform service planning, assurance, and continuous improvement.

The Paediatric Neurosciences Operational Delivery Network (ODN) was established in 2018 to support the development and ongoing delivery of the South Children’s Epilepsy Service pathways. The quaternary centre for paediatric epilepsy surgery across the South is University Hospitals Bristol and Weston NHS Foundation Trust. Tertiary paediatric neurosciences services within the region are provided by Oxford University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust and University Hospitals Southampton NHS Foundation Trust.
